Individual Success and the Strategy Process : an Exploratory Study

Today’s business press questions the link—by no means automatic—between individual and organizational success. Top performers or mavericks (“straight shooters”) display idiosyncratic behaviour that, while it brings innovation, puts organizational success at risk. The study reveals that individual success is a social construct that is part of the process of strategy formation and stems from a corporatist attitude to official strategy.
